Thrifting Uniform

I never realized that so many people have "thrifting" uniforms that make everything a little easier during a long day of treasure hunting. On Sunday, Josh and I stopped at an antique/thrift store and ended up spending more than 2 hours there. Normally, I would be fussing over whatever I was wearing by then (because I always wear dresses while thrifting), but the pockets in this comfy cargo jacket from Umgee Plus came in handy to store my phone and cash in for quick access.

Plus, I was pretty glad I wore capris- I saw a zillion spiders. Enter thought of spider crawling up my leg while I'm wearing a dress. Yeah, no thanks.

Do you have a thrifting uniform? Do tell!

PS-I came out with some pretty amazing finds that I can't wait to share!

  1. I don't really have a thrifting "uniform," but rather I just try and wear something that is really easy to change out of, because those dressing rooms get hot and I usually end up having to try on a lot!

  4. Since a lot of places don't have dressing rooms, I like to wear layers that are easy to put clothes over or under. I usually go for a tank top, long skirt, and flats. Oh and bring some little socks to try on shoes with! I don't normally wear socks (because I wear flats) but you definitely want to bring some since you don't know whose feet were previously in those shoes.

  5. Whenever I go thrifting, I forget that I'll be trying things on and then immediately regret what I wore because I love layers so dang much. This look is simple and cute :)

  6. This looks like a practical and fun thrifting outfit! I've been wishing for a jacket like that for ages, but have yet to find one that suits me. I tend to wear super impractical things on my thrifting missions, since I'm just not that organized, but jeans and a T are probably the best option (especially for avoiding spiders - eek!!)

  8. Ah these photos are adorable. Whenever I see your outfits Im always amazed at how effortlessly good they look, like this one. It depends if Im antiquing I wouldn't say I so much as have a uniform I usually just wear what Id like, which most often is a dress. If Im going thrfiting for clothes I try to wear something that makes it easy to try stuff on top of. Ive made the mistake of wearing dresses and then when trying to take off whatever I was trying on having to make sure my dress isn't lifting up in the process. A basic top and jeans always work!

  9. I actually don't have a thrifting uniform but maybe I should? I think this is a great one! That jacket is wonderful and looks really cool with your striped shirt.

  10. You got the Birkes! I'm loving the yellow -- that wasn't an option when I got mine. And they are so, so comfortable.

And I never really thought of of thrifting uniform, even though that makes so much sense. A lot of times I go thrift shopping or flea market shopping on a whim, as I'm passing by a store or a sale, so I am shopping in whatever I'm already wearing. Which is usually a dress anyway.
