Move Over, Moto

I never thought I would wear a moto vest! Seriously. It's so not my style. But that is what I love about style, we can constantly be adapting our style to accommodate new items in our closets so that they seamlessly fit.

What is one thing that "isn't you" but you love? Have you tried it yet?

Styling Off the Shoulder!

Hey babes!
Styling an off-the-shoulder top could feel constricting, like you can only really pair it with some awesome denim....but you could layer it under a pinafore for an added kick to your outfit! I love my ASOS denim pinafore and with this gauze off-the-shoulder crop top!

How are you styling your off the shoulder tops this spring?

Spring Vibes

I'm so excited for warmer weather to finally be in Ohio! Suns out...... cute dresses out? What are your favorite spring trends this year? Mine HAS to be the bell sleeve!

Denim Days

Last week I picked up this dress on clearance from Old Navy and couldn't wait to wear it! Denim is really having a moment in my life (and the fashion world) and I am drawn to anything denim- skirts, dresses, jackets. I have never seen a denim swing dress and I was reluctant to even try it on in an XXL at Old Navy, because usually their button up stuff doesn't fit over my hips. Surprise! It did.
When it doubt ( or even if you just really, really like it), try that sh!@ on!
You never know!
As a plus-sized lady who thrifts frequently, I've learned that size is really just a number. Regardless if it looks way too small or way too big, you should try it on! I've found so many unexpected goodies in "straight sizes" or even straight size stores that fit well. It's all about the fit. Not about the size.

Style Tip: Pair interesting socks with shoes for spring and let lace or mesh peep out! It's one of my favorite ways to update a good shoe!

I've been looking for a new place to get my hair cut & colored, a year. I recently went to Skullz Salon in Kent, OH and had my hair chopped off! I feel kinda naked, honestly. I always go through stages of growing my hair and then cutting it all off to start fresh, but I'm really loving the bob my stylist gave me. Are you guys as picky as I am about who does your hair? I think I found "the one"! I have another appt. scheduled Wednesday to get it colored lighter!

PS- Shout out to my girl, Macey, for taking these pics of me. She's a fellow fashion merchandising student like me, and she just started her sassy blog here. Please go check it out and say hey!

Missed some videos? I uploaded two new videos last week. I did a review and lookbook of the GabiFreshxSwimSexy line! Check it out and subscribe below!

M A X I in Winter

One thing I love about winter is how versatile our entire closet becomes. Before I learned how to layer and make the most of what I currently have, I would've never put on a maxi skirt in winter. But now, I see how elegant or casual this can actually make an outfit. For those extra chilly days, I suggest throwing on thick tights or leggings underneath and rocking a good boot! But, if you live in warm don't have to do that ;)

Valentine's Day Lookbook: I Heart You

Hi, everyone! Today starts the first installment of my Valentine's Day Lookbook Series. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week, I will be sharing a new Valentine's Day outfit ideas. This first outfit idea stemmed from my love of mixing prints. What other day of the year can you mix hearts and a grid print? Oh, everyday? Okay.

My top AND my skirt is from the lovely plus-size shop, Re/Dress . I went to an Elle King concert a week ago with my best friend and stopped in to shop beforehand and picked up quite the little haul (expect a haul video this week). I love the atmosphere of the store and the message the owner and everyone who works there sends. Two thumbs up for fat babes doing freaking awesome things in the fashion biz.

If you haven't seen my video yet that shows all of my Valentine's day outfit ideas, check it out here! Talk to you peeps on Wednesday!

Recently, I've began my journey in beauty. I haven't always been the most up to date on makeup and the application of such, but I've been slowly teaching myself (through many, many YouTube tutorials) how to perfect winged eyeliner or a smokey eye. I feel rejuvenated whenever I put it on now...which is usually for photo or video shoots these days, because it still takes me forever.

I still enjoy the freedom of a bare face most days. I really believe that if you can feel beautiful without a trace of makeup on, you'll feel 100% more confident in the makeup you do wear. Sometimes winged eyeliner can't give you the confidence for a big presentation or even to just walk around in public. It  all starts inside and works its way out, very slowly. I'm still getting there, as most of us still are.

Hello, everyone! The one thing I love about Mondays is that it starts a brand new work/school week, filled with good intentions and new goals. Instead of setting one or two BIG goals for the year of 2016, I create weekly resolutions so I don't overwhelm myself with the big picture.
Since the week has begun, here are a few of my goals:

Put my phone down. I have sat at way too many dinner tables last year while every single person (including myself) was occupied on their phone the whole time.

Expect to get my work done in a timely manner. This will probably be a recurring goal because I am a natural-born procrastinator. However, since my school schedule is light this semester it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Show up. I didn't do a great job of this last year. I felt totally disconnected with the world and people around me because of my stresses in school and my previous work. Now that it's a fresh new start, I plan on being present during conversation, going to all of my classes, and not let my mind wander into the next worry too much.

What are some of your weekly resolutions? I'd love to know :)

PS- I am changing my posting schedule on here and for my YouTube channel. Expect to see posts on the blog every Monday and Wednesday and new videos every Wednesday and Friday!

Hi friends! A few weeks ago I decided to purchase for the very first time from Wet Seal's Plus Size line. I love their selection of clothing and I had a reallllly hard time choosing what I wanted, but I ended up with a pair of leggings, pants, a dress (obviously) and a top. Here is my full review and if you like watching videos, I made a review+try on video that is at the bottom of this post!
(disclaimer: all images are directly from and are not my own)

I absolutely love these leggings! This is my first galaxy print "thing" ever and I love the vibrancy of the color on these. I purchased a size 3X and they are true to size. They do not say "Wet Seal" on the tag, however the brand is "Inspired Hearts", which is another junior clothing brand. On their site, the description says capri length, but as you can tell, on the model (and me at 5'6") they hit the ankle, which I really enjoy. Last, I really like that the pattern is consistent throughout the entire garment when wearing, no "stretched" looking around the thighs or hip area like some other printed leggings.

The structure and design of this tank is super cute. I ordered a 3X in this tank and for me, it ran small. On the model it seems as if it's meant to fit loosely, and while I can definitely get away with wearing it as a form-fitting piece, I wish the sizing was more consistent here. The golden zipper detail is amazing, as you can really transform the way it looks on you with how much or little you zip it. There are some really cute slits on either side of the tank which don't go up too high and I really love that look. It adds a little sexy factor to a simple ribbed tank!

I love a good ankle pant and when I saw these, I knew I'd have to go for them. I ordered a size 3X and again, they ran a little small despite what the measurement chart said. The reviews on this piece also mostly said they ran small, so I'd definitely size up if you're able to! The tag says "Zenobia", which is a wholesale fashion house in LA (maybe that's why the inconsistency in sizing?)
On the bright side, they still do fit because of the stretchy waistband. I also LOVE the fabric on these and I know many of the plus-sized gals will, too. The fabric is the Ponte Rayon/Spandex/Nylon blend and it really creates a great silhouette. They go down to my ankles and don't bunch up like others can so if you're around my height (5'6"), these would be perfect to tuck into boots for the winter or wear with a nice heel for spring/fall.

This is definitely my favorite purchase from them. THIS DRESS THOUGH?!!!! omg. I can't say enough. I love the neckline detail and how it comes up to the neck. It adds an elegance that most designers overlook with the crisscross neckline. The sleeves have a bell shape to them which is totally transports you back to the '70s. AND the dress could fit well over a 3X (according to Wet Seal Plus's size chart). At a size 20 US, I can safely say this dress would fit up to a 24 (which is what we all want, right?!! more sizes!!!!). The only drawback to this dress is the fabric is on the thin side. It is super soft, but thin, so I'm going to be extra careful with the care instructions. I can't wait to wear this for a dinner date with my boyfriend!

I would definitely buy from Wet Seal Plus again. I believe the quality of the clothes in correlation with the prices. They run a lot of sales on their site so definitely take advantage of that plus free shipping! If you're going to buy pants, I would recommend finding a store in your area that offers the plus-size line in-store so you can try them on. The sizing chart to the clothing is moderately consistent, which I would always recommend e-mailing them to clear up any size questions. I hope Wet Seal + will offer more sizes in the VERY near future, because plus sized fashion does not stop at a size 3X and everyone deserves to be able to shop for their size.

Here is my video review + try on. I hope you enjoy! Please subscribe to my channel and let me know if you have any other plus-size style/beauty/body positive video requests!
