Summer Goals

Wednesday, May 21, 2014

Every year, just like a New Year's Resolution, I make a mental list of what I want to do in the summer, because I know after college I won't really have a "free" summer. So, I want to soak up all the adventure and fun I can now because it will be at a lower dosage in about a year after graduation.

Here goes my "must do" summer list, 2014 edition:
1. Plan a trip with my boyfriend (done- we're going to Myrtle Beach in August!)
2. Sell $1000 worth of vintage on my eBay shop (hey etsy sellers, should I switch over?)
3. Go camping!
4. Be less critical of myself.
5. Blog + collaborate with some of my awesome, creative friends.
6. Vespa more. Yes, it is a noun and a verb.
7. See JASON MRAZ in concert for the 4th time later on this summer (his new album is coming out in July!!!)
8. Learn more songs on my ukulele.
9. Gain my confidence back when walking in heels ( I had a serious spill last year and haven't touched them since- so many cute shoes not being worn!)
10. Be present in the here and now.

PS- What are some of your summer goals?

  1. i love the idea of making summer resolutions! i actually sell vintage items as well, but i sell them on etsy. my success has been so-so. i haven't had a ton of sales, but it's enough that i continue (and enjoy) doing it. how has your experience been on ebay? i have always thought about trying out ebay but I'm so hesitant and unsure of how much success i would have!

    1. I've had pretty good success with eBay so far. I've noticed that vintage dresses sell better and more often than skirts, blouses, or pretty much anything else. The biggest drawback to eBay is their "final value fees" because I think they take 10% of the sale and then 10% of the shipping if you charge for shipping. I've heard etsy has less fees but then the downside of that is that its so saturated with vintage sellers, but that's everywhere now including ebay lol.

  2. My main goal this summer is to start working out regularly. Nothing crazy or intense - just 15-20 minutes 3x a week. Oh, and more margaritas..... but that's my resolution EVER summer :)

  3. All good goals to have, particularly ukelele and Vespa-ing. :) My only hope for this summer is to have a vacation.

  4. I saw your gallery on Modcloth (I'm following you now!), and I love how you tie up the bottom of your shirt at your waistline. But, I can't tell what you are using to do that. Would you post tips/tutorial on how you do it? I love the look!

    1. Aw, thank you so much! I will be posting some tricks on how to tie the bottom of shirts later on today- you inspired me to do a post! :)
